Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting, taxation, financial reporting and compliance requirements of our clinic in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, balance-sheet preparation, profit and loss reporting, cash-flow management and healthcare accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and complete accounting records.
- Record and reconcile daily clinic revenue, patient payments, insurance collections and other income.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and review the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement and Cash-Flow Statement.
- Perform bank, cash, credit-card, payment-gateway and POS reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, supplier balances and payment schedules.
- Manage petty cash and verify supporting documents for all expenses.
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Prepare department-wise, service-wise and doctor-wise profitability reports.
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins and financial performance, highlighting any discrepancies or leakages.
UAE VAT and Corporate Tax
- Maintain VAT-compliant accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and file UAE VAT returns accurately and within the required deadlines.
- Review input and output VAT calculations and reconcile VAT accounts.
- Maintain proper classification of taxable, zero-rated and exempt transactions.
- Support UAE Corporate Tax registration, computation, documentation and return filing.
- Maintain records required by the Federal Tax Authority.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors when required.
- Monitor changes in UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and accounting regulations.
Clinic-Specific Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily patient billing with cash, card, bank transfer, insurance and online collections.
- Verify discounts, complimentary services, refunds, credit notes and package utilisation.
- Track prepaid treatment packages, memberships and unearned revenue.
- Monitor inventory consumption and the cost of medicines, supplements, consumables and treatment materials.
- Reconcile pharmacy, laboratory, dental, aesthetic and clinical service revenues, where applicable.
- Track doctor commissions and revenue-sharing arrangements.
- Coordinate with reception, operations, insurance, procurement and HR teams to ensure complete financial documentation.
- Support insurance receivable reconciliation and monitor outstanding claims, where applicable.
- Maintain fixed-asset registers for medical equipment, furniture, computers and other clinic assets.
- Ensure proper depreciation, asset tagging and accounting treatment.
Payroll and Compliance
- Assist with monthly payroll preparation, staff deductions, incentives and commissions.
- Maintain records relating to employee advances, reimbursements and final settlements.
- Support WPS-related payroll documentation in coordination with HR.
- Coordinate with auditors during statutory and internal audits.
- Ensure proper document control, filing and retention of invoices, receipts, contracts and financial records.
- Implement and maintain appropriate internal financial controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a clinic, medical centre, hospital or healthcare business.
- Practical experience in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax preparation and filing is essential.
- Strong knowledge of balance-sheet preparation, P&L reporting, cash flow and financial analysis.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Odoo or a similar ERP system.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with clinic-management, billing, POS and insurance systems is preferred.
- Previous UAE experience is strongly preferred.\
