Role Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist plays a key role in designing and delivering engaging learning experiences across GMG’s workforce. This includes delivering Learning Bites, conducting in-person refresher trainings for non-LMS users, managing training data, contributing to digital learning transformation, and supporting the rollout of GMG’s training programs. The role blends creativity, collaboration, and data insights to ensure learning initiatives are impactful, measurable, and aligned with GMG’s people strategy. This role serves as the bridge between learning innovation, compliance assurance, and career growth at GMG. By designing impactful Learning Bites, facilitating compliance trainings, supporting Training Programs, and implementing digital learning systems, the L&D Specialist ensures that GMG’s workforce is skilled, ethical, and future-ready. Through data-driven reporting and collaboration, the role drives measurable impact to both employee development and organizational performance.

Key Success Drivers including Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Learning Design & Delivery

· Support the design, script, and deliver short, engaging Learning Bites tailored for retail staff, focused on sales, service, and operational excellence.

· Support and deliver Induction Programs in coordination with the L&D Manager, ensuring new joiners receive consistent and engaging onboarding.

· Conduct refresher training for employees without access to the Learning Management System (LMS).

· Ensure all learning sessions reflect GMG’s values, compliance standards, and customer-centric culture.

Program Delivery Support

· Support the development and implementation of Training Programs that provide structured pathways for employee growth within the organization.

· Coordinate with L&D Managers, Performance Management, and HR Business Partners to ensure learning programs align with career development frameworks

· Monitor and report participation, engagement, and success metrics to management and recommend continuous improvements based on feedback.

Training Data Management & Reporting

· Collect and consolidate attendance data, feedback scores, and training effectiveness results from internal trainers and learning programs.

· Analyze learning participation trends and generate insights to support business decisions.

· Assist in preparing and presenting the Annual Learning Report in alignment with the TM Team, summarizing training data, key metrics, and organizational impact.

Digital Learning & Process Automation

· Lead initiatives to implement digital attendance and feedback solutions that

learning ecosystem.

Collaboration & Talent Management Support

· Provide operational and administrative support across all Talent Management sub-functions, including Learning & Development, Emirati Development, and Performance Management.

· Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of learning and talent initiatives.

· Assist L&D Managers in scheduling, logistics, and communication for retail and corporate learning programs.

Functional/Technical Competencies

The role demonstrates strong Learning Design & Facilitation, designing, adapting, and delivering concise, engaging, and practical learning content—including Learning Bites, inductions, and refreshers—that is retail-focused and aligned with sales, service, and operational excellence standards; shows Digital Learning & Systems Fluency by effectively using LMS and digital tools to deliver, track, and enhance learning while partnering with Digital and BI teams to support automation, dashboards, and real-time reporting; applies Data Analysis & Insight Generation by collecting, validating, and interpreting training data (attendance, feedback, completion, and impact) to identify trends, highlight gaps, and provide clear, actionable insights that inform Talent Management and business decisions; ensures Program Coordination & Execution through structured planning and management of end-to-end logistics, including scheduling, communication, and setup for both retail and corporate learning programs to guarantee seamless delivery; demonstrates strong Stakeholder & Vendor Management by working collaboratively with L&D Managers, HRBPs, Performance Management, Emirati Development, line managers, and external providers to align expectations, secure participation, and maintain delivery quality; upholds a Customer & Learner-Centric Mindset by designing and delivering learning experiences that are relevant, simple, accessible, and reflective of GMG values, compliance requirements, and a strong customer experience culture; exhibits Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement by adhering to SOPs and governance standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and proactively recommending enhancements to content, delivery, and processes based on feedback and outcomes; and displays effective Communication & Collaboration through clear written and verbal communication, confident facilitation, and a solutions-oriented, collaborative approach that drives engagement and adoption across stakeholders.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resource or in related field of study from a reputed university or institution.

Experience

4 years of experience in Learning & Development or Talent Management, ideally in retail or service industries.
