Role Overview
The Payroll Officer owns the end-to-end payroll cycle across the Group, ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time, in full compliance with labour law, internal policy, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Process the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable labour law, statutory requirements, and company policy
- Verify new joiners, movers, and leavers, confirming complete documentation before payroll input
- Apply salary changes, allowances, deductions, and benefit entitlements correctly and on schedule
- Maintain and update the HRIS, ensuring employee records remain accurate and audit-ready
- Safeguard the accuracy of payroll-linked data across benefits, deductions, and entitlements
- Maintain organised HR records and leave balances across all locations
- Prepare and review payroll reports, securing required approvals ahead of submission to the Accounting team
- Conduct payroll reconciliation covering headcount validation, general ledger, and bank statements
- Investigate and resolve variances, escalating exceptions where required
- Audit and process time, attendance, and leave records ahead of each payroll cycle
- Ensure leave accruals and balances are correctly reflected in the system
- Calculate and process final settlements for departing employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payment
- Coordinate with relevant teams to close out all payroll-related obligations at exit
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries on payroll, attendance, and HRIS matters, resolving issues with discretion and professionalism
- Analyse HR and payroll data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
- Support wider People & Culture initiatives and projects as required
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and HRIS administration, ideally within hospitality or a multi-site environment
- Strong working knowledge of labour law, payroll regulations, and financial reconciliation principles
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven cycles without compromising accuracy
- Confident handling confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in HR/payroll systems and MS Excel
- Clear communicator, comfortable working across People & Culture, Finance, and operational teams
