HR Specialist – HR Business Partners

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an HR Spelicialist reporting to Assistant Director, Human Resources and Business Partner.

The HR Specialist plays a critical role in supporting HRBPs & HR PeopleLink delivering HR key priorities. This position requires a keen understanding of human resources principles, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The HR Specialist serves as a key point of contact for assisting employees and managers queries in HRBP related matters.

The HR Specialist will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to deliver HR support to designated business units. The HR Specialist will provide administrative and operational support to the HRBPs in delivering HR initiatives and programs. The incumbent plays vital role in initiating various requests on Workday & JDx.

The HR Specialist will also be responsible in ensuring the headcount reports are accurate and updated.

Key Responsiblities

HR Partnership

  • Work closely with HRBPs to understand business objectives and support HRBPs in aligning HR strategies accordingly
  • Assist HRBPs in managing day-to-day HR operations in all HR-related matters, including workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development
  • Serve as a point of contact for minor HR-related inquiries from employees and managers, providing timely and accurate information and escalating issues as needed
  • Ensure that all requests for services are completed within an appropriate time frame
  • Assist in handling all HR systems requests, or updates including job description updates (JDx), status changes (Workday), supplemental payment requests (Monthly & One-time), etc.
  • Handling all UAE National Exit Interviews and other Exit Interviews as needed

HR Analytics, Reporting & Projects

  • Support in preparing regular reports and dashboards for HRBPs to facilitate the scheduled meetings with the Senior Leadership
  • Contribute in HR projects and initiatives as assigned, which contributes to process improvements
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of HRBP engagements (Huddles & Team Events)

Policy Development and Compliance

  • Support HRBPs in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure alignment with NYUAD objectives and best practices

Headcount Reporting & Analy sis

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to manage and update the headcount report, ensuring accurate tracking of staffing levels, workforce changes, and organizational structure
  • Analyze headcount data to provide insights and recommendations for workforce planning and decision-making

Performance Management

  • Support HRBPs in the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms
  • Support HRBPs in providing guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters and facilitate performance improvement plans as needed

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in HR support or administrative roles
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Essential office software (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint; Google Docs/Sheets)
  • Able to learn new systems quickly
  • Proven interest in problem solving, as well as in business and technology related issues
  • A strong passion for learning with outstanding analytical aptitude
  • Adaptability, as well as skills in dealing with uncertainties
  • Ability to adjust in a teamwork environment
  • Outstanding leadership capacity with professional veracity and consistency

Preferred Experience

  • Level 5 CIPD or any relevant HR certification
